Elan Vital ELV01 Basin Set in Vintage Brass

Casa Vara is a contemporary finca-style villa in Provence designed by the Cannes-based architects Kevin Caprini & Jerry Pellerin.

The master bathroom features white veined marble walls and washbasins that contrast with storage and pillars made of rough wood, a shower lined with small dark ceramic tiles and a freestanding bath. The Vintage Brass basin and bath brassware, from The Watermark Collection’s Elan Vital collection, adds authentic detail to what the architects describe as the villa’s “chic bohemian” feel.

Light-flooded interiors emphasise natural materials, pits rough against smooth textures to create an aesthetic drawn from the surrounding landscape.

Two further bathrooms highlight the sheer individuality of the fixtures and fittings chosen for this project, with each singular element given space to speak; from local timber and stone to Watermark’s characterful taps: Vintage Brass Brooklyn in one bathroom and Loft in the other, with a distinctive Oil Rubbed Bronze finish.

The architects describe this as a house for “a happy family” and a large social kitchen forms a natural hub at the heart of the villa.

Traditional in concept and materials, but utterly contemporary in its realisation, the kitchen is full of warm colour and craft textures. The sink features Watermark’s Elan Vital brassware in the Vintage Brass finish that links through to the three bathrooms.

A minute attention to detail is obvious throughout this project… and best summarised the architects’ own words, “Accents amalgamate into a coherent, harmonious and beautiful entity.”
